Got your own little squirmy-wormy? Try having your child do his written work seated on a Yoga Ball. Yoga Balls provide more sensory input for children who are side-seaters or “always-has-his-foot-on-my-seat-ers!” If you notice your Sensational-Mr. is having difficulty completing seated work, try the exercise ball. As an alternative, try incorporating a Sensory Break every 5, 10 or 15 minutes, depending on his attention span and ability to focus. Get him up, do some silly exercises and then retry his seated work.
We use ABC Exercise Cards in our homeschool classroom and they are phenominal! The kids are crazy about getting their silly wiggles out and it’s totally fun!
